Grassfield is  a perfect 4-0 against Woodside since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Grizzlies will take on the Wolverines at 1:00  p.m. Grassfield is coming into the  match hot, having won their last four games.
Grassfield barely beat Nansemond River the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Grizzlies blew past the Warriors 11-1 on Thursday. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six  runs or more this season.

 Giacomo Franco made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with three  runs and two  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Grassfield let  Cayden McBride and  BJ McIntyre run wild. McBride  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run, while  McIntyre  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That  double was  McIntyre's first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Josh Nelson, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Grassfield  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 4.2  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Woodside, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Denbigh  9-8 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Wolverines have posted  since March 21, 2024.
 The team  relied heavily on  Shaquan Patrick, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. He has become a key player for Woodside: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 2-5 otherwise.  Richard Jones was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 Grassfield pushed their record up to 8-5 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Woodside, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record  this season.
 Everything went Grassfield's way against Woodside in their previous meeting  back in May of 2016, as Grassfield made off with  a  10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
