Basketball Recap: CJ Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Desert Edge over ALA - Queen Creek

After flying high against Desert View on Saturday, Desert Edge came back down to earth. The Scorpions fell 58-46 to the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-43 on Friday.

Desert Edge lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was CJ Johnson, who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jude Ramirez, who posted ten points and three steals.

Desert Edge's record now sits at 3-3. As for ALA - Queen Creek, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Desert Edge will square off against Fairfax at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for ALA - Queen Creek, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-46 win against Walden Grove on the 29th.
