Recap: Fideles Christian Rangers vs. Dominion Christian Knights
The Fideles Christian Rangers were the 32-29 winner over the Dominion Christian Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Fideles Christian fell 42-34 to Dominion Christian on Saturday. Fideles Christian's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Fideles Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Laci Harkins. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points. That was a full 64.7% of Fideles Christian's points, marking the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Emory Maiyer was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with three steals for Dominion Christian. Maiyer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoe Jackson, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Fideles Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Dominion Christian, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fideles Christian will take on Killian Hill Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Killian Hill Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last 15 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Dominion Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Holy Spirit Prep at 6:00 p.m.
