Basketball Recap: The Woodlands Takes a Loss

The Woodlands's tournament run continued when they took on Ellison on Saturday. The Woodlands Highlanders came up short against the Ellison Eagles, falling 70-48. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Eagles are ranked 63rd).

The Woodlands' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ellison, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Woodlands and Cleveland will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellison will take on Weiss in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
