Volleyball Recap: The Grove School Takes a Loss

The Grove School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Packinghouse Christian Academy Bears, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The Grove School was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23, 25-7.

Victoria Montaghami paced The Grove School's offense, picking up five kills. Montaghami were helped by Yasmin Asgarzadie and Azelea Azri, who contributed six assists each. Kenzie Roche controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Packinghouse Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Sophia Escobedo, who had four aces.

The Grove School's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Packinghouse Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. The Grove School will challenge rival Cornerstone Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Packinghouse Christian Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Bethel Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
