Volleyball Recap: West Craven Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

West Craven came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Havelock Rams. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Tuesday.

West Craven had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-17.

Sophia Sutton paced West Craven's offense, picking up 22 kills. Sutton got some help from Seryna Gaito and her 28 assists. Sutton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Despite the loss, Havelock saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kira Peak had 14 digs and two aces.

West Craven's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Havelock, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

West Craven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against New Bern on the 26th. As for Havelock, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Richlands on the 26th.
