Baseball Game Preview: Compton Early College Rising Phoenix vs. Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles

For the first time this season, Compton Early College will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles at 2:00 p.m. Compton Early College is looking for their season's first victory.

Compton Early College lost 11-1 to Verbum Dei Jesuit last Monday.

Meanwhile, Animo Leadership was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to Rolling Hills Prep, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Animo Leadership saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giovanni Ulloa, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Compton Early College's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Animo Leadership, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Compton Early College suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Animo Leadership in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Compton Early College avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
