Edcouch-Elsa and Weslaco East are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Weslaco East Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Edcouch-Elsa turned things around against Pace on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Vikings.

Meanwhile, while Weslaco East put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Harlingen South. Weslaco East came out on top against Harlingen South by a score of 4-0.

The result came thanks to Eduardo Hernandez's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jayden Del Villar and Brian Perez did most of the damage at the plate: Del Villar went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Perez scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That home run marked the first that Del Villar launched this season.

Weslaco East's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.2 runs. As for Edcouch-Elsa, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Edcouch-Elsa came out on top in a nail-biter against Weslaco East in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Does Edcouch-Elsa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weslaco East turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
