Softball Recap: Cheyenne Comes Up Short

Cheyenne fell victim to Mater Academy East Las Vegas and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 21-0. The Desert Shields haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Cheyenne will be playing in front of their home fans against Awaken Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Desert Shields' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they will head out on the road to square off against Del Sol at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
