Softball Recap: Contreras Find Success

Contreras hadn't done well against Roybal recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cobras walked away with a 22-19 victory over the Titans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cobras.

Sara Gavarrete was incredible, getting five hits. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joselyn Carrasco, who got three hits.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Contreras kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Contreras back to even at 8-8. As for Roybal, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Coming up, Contreras will challenge Robert F. Kennedy Community at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.08 runs per game on average), something the Cobras will no doubt try to take advantage of. Roybal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
