Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Ponca City

Ponca City had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Putnam City Pirates as they made off with a 9-2 win. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Ponca City's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 9-13. As for Putnam City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-24 record this season.

Ponca City will head out to face off against Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Putnam City, they will be playing at home against Jenks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
