Recap: Cuba Rams vs. East Mountain Timberwolves

The Cuba Rams had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They blew past East Mountain, posting a 50-17 victory on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cuba also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cuba to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sherrilyn Jim, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Jim pulled down eight or more rebounds. Maliyah Herrera was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.

Cuba is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. As for East Mountain, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Cuba will head out on the road to challenge Cottonwood Classical Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cuba focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for East Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bosque at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (East Mountain is ranked 143rd, while Bosque is ranked 131st).
