Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Urbana's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Urbana won the last time they faced Annapolis and things went their way on Monday too. The Urbana Hawks snuck past the Annapolis Panthers with a 54-48 victory.

Leading Urbana to victory were Diego Orellana and Sean Pyles. Orellana to rack up 16 points in addition to six steals and five assists, while Pyles posted 20 points and five rebounds. Orellana has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tristan Thompson, who scored nine points and eight boards.

Urbana has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games. Annapolis' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Coming up, Urbana won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Hagerstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Hagerstown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Urbana likes a good challenge. As for Annapolis, they will face off against North Point at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. North Point will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Annapolis surely won't give up without a fight.
