Volleyball Recap: DeSoto Comes Up Short

DeSoto dropped down to 3-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 3-0 to the Coppell Cowboys. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cowboys when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Paige Smith paced DeSoto's offense, picking up seven kills. Smith got some help from Emerie Hickman and her 16 assists.

As for Coppell, their win bumped their record up to 7-2. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 12th (when they won 3-0).

Among those leading the charge was Emma Pehl, who had 17 assists and ten digs. That's the most assists she has posted over her last six contests. Taliah Ellis also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

DeSoto wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Richland on the 23rd. As for Coppell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Richardson on the 26th.
