Volleyball Recap: Tolman Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Tolman faced West Warwick in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Wizards by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Tolman had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-21.

Hayson Ortiz paced Tolman's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ortiz got some help from Jean-Lucas Barroso and his 46 assists. Finally, Ortiz was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high seven blocks.

Tolman's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for West Warwick, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tolman will challenge Classical at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Warwick, they will face off against Woonsocket at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. The Wizards are facing the Villa Novans at the right time seeing as the Villa Novans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
