Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Washington

Washington entered their tilt with North Pitt on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 90-65 margin over the North Pitt Panthers. With the Pam Pack ahead 47-23 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Washington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chaise Smith, who posted 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds. What's more, Smith also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jarryn Payne, who earned 21 points and seven boards.

Washington's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. As for North Pitt, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Coming up, Washington will square off against SouthWest Edgecombe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for North Pitt, they will face off against West Craven at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
