Basketball Recap: Carolina M Mustangs vs. Liberty Christian Patriots
The Carolina M Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 70-32 loss at the hands of Liberty Christian. While losing is never fun, Carolina M can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 615th, while the Patriots are ranked 282nd).
Jakeem Bradford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Liberty Christian, shooting 4-for-8 from deep and dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. Bradford hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Ian Sterrett, who scored 21 points along with four steals.
Carolina M's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Liberty Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carolina M will face off against the at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Trojans at 6:15 p.m. on February 6th.
