Basketball Game Preview: Gibbs Gladiators vs. Victory Christian Academy Storm

The Gibbs Gladiators will square off against the Victory Christian Academy Storm at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gibbs comes in on 12 and Victory Christian Academy on six.

Gibbs picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They secured a 60-56 W over Academy of Central Florida National. Given the Gladiators' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Golden Bulls are ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gibbs can attribute much of their success to Oneal Delancy, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 27 points, and Jacob Daniels, who went 6 of 13 en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The game was Daniels' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bobby Crawford, who posted five points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy made easy work of Calvary Christian on Tuesday and carried off an 82-61 win. The Storm have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Gibbs has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Victory Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
