Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brooke). Everything went their way against the Catholic Central Crusaders on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bruins needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Karson Drumm tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Emma Hayman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emma Michel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Brooke kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.
Brooke is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-18 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.
