Football Recap: Laurel Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Laurel couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Clairton Bears by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.

Even if they lost, Laurel's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Alex Medved was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Laurel's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Clairton, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Laurel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clairton, they will welcome Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bears 5.7, the Trojans 14.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
