Baseball Recap: Bishop Ready Triumphs

Bishop Ready barely beat Franklin Heights the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Silver Knights never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Friday. The Silver Knights have beaten the Falcons the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.

Jacob Cheatham made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs. Bishop Ready is 5-1 when Cheatham posts two or more runs, but 3-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Kasen Abbott was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Bishop Ready's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Franklin Heights, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Ready will square off against Westerville North at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Franklin Heights, they will face off against Mifflin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
