Basketball Game Preview: Williams Yellowjackets vs. Gridley Bulldogs

The Williams Yellowjackets will take on the Gridley Bulldogs in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Williams has given up an average of 56 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Williams beat Lindhurst 60-56.

Diego Ambriz had another great game (as he tends to do), putting up 30 points. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Moises Vargas, who posted 15 points.

Meanwhile, Gridley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Saint Mary's, falling 75-44. The Bulldogs were down 53-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Williams' victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Gridley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Williams took a serious blow against Gridley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 60-33. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
