Basketball Recap: Creighton Comes Up Short

Creighton played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 91st).

Creighton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Elgin/Pope John, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Creighton will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chambers/Wheeler Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Elgin/Pope John, they will challenge North Central at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Elgin/Pope John's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
