Basketball Recap: Taos Comes Up Short

Taos lost against Espanola Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Taos Tigers took a blow against the Espanola Valley Sundevils, falling 52-25. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Sundevils 10-6 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Taos still got an impressive performance from Jasmine Mondragon, who posted nine points.

Taos has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Espanola Valley, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pojoaque Valley the next time they take the court. Espanola Valley will head out to face Pojoaque Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Taos will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
