Preview: Celeste Blue Devils vs. Seymour Panthers
The Celeste Blue Devils will face off against the Seymour Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
After soaring to 42 points the game before, Celeste were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a serious blow against Muenster, falling 35-7. Celeste has not had much luck with Muenster recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Celeste's defeat came about despite a quality game from Anthony Powell, who rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Powell is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
Meanwhile, Seymour stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-0 victory over Petrolia at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Seymour just coasted through the last quarter.
Brayden Loyd continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 445 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. David Charo was another key contributor, picking up 179 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Celeste's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Seymour, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
