Softball Recap: Karns City's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Karns City dropped their record down to 10-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell 11-6 to the Moniteau Warriors. The Gremlins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ronni Radaker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Huff, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

As for Moniteau, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games.

On Moniteau's side, the team relied heavily on Halle Beatty, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and four runs. That home run marked the first that Beatty has launched this season. Alyssa Thompson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Coming up, Moniteau will look to defend their home field on Friday against Saegertown at 4:00 p.m. Karns City will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' game: after the Warriors face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Karns City again at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
