Softball Recap: McKinley Takes a Loss

McKinley fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Springfield on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The defeat leaves the Trojans still looking for their first win of the season.

Allison Hoschar spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 13 hits and racked up seven Ks.

McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Springfield, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.

While McKinley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
