Softball Game Preview: Ontario Jaguars vs. Diamond Ranch Panthers

For the second straight game, Ontario will face off against Diamond Ranch. The Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Ontario is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Ontario's last matchup with Diamond Ranch could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Jaguars lost 16-5 to the Panthers.

For Diamond Ranch's part, Izel Avalos was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Avalos was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Khloe Malcolm was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Liset Renteria was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Diamond Ranch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Diamond Ranch moved to 9-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Ontario, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
