Recap: Minford Falcons vs. South Webster Jeeps
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fairland, the Minford Falcons were happy to have found some success on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 victory over South Webster. For Minford, this counts as revenge for the 39-26 defeat South Webster walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, South Webster had strong showings from Addi Claxon, who scored 15 points along with six steals, and Skylar Zimmerman, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The game was Zimmerman's 12th in a row with at least ten points.
Minford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for South Webster, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minford will take on Portsmouth West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Portsmouth West is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for South Webster, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waverly at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Waverly is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
