Baseball Recap: Wilmot Comes Up Short

Wilmot lost against St. Joseph back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wilmot saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chance Ruby, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Wilmot's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for St. Joseph, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Coming up, Wilmot will venture away from home to challenge Catholic Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hilltoppers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.31 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Joseph, they will host Union Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
