Softball Recap: North Reading Starts Season with Defeat at Home

North Reading unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 10-2 to the Gloucester Fishermen on Wednesday. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fishermen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Coming up, North Reading will square off against Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gloucester, they will face off against Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Fishermen their first taste of in-conference action this season.
