Softball Game Preview: Glenmora Wildcats vs. Grace Christian Warriors

The Glenmora Wildcats will take on the Grace Christian Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Glenmora is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since March 11th on Monday. They lost 13-1 to Pineville. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Grace Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Ouachita Christian 16-15. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Sydney Avery and Bella Acree did most of the damage at the plate: Avery scored five runs and stole four bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances, while Acree went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those five runs gave Avery a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Smith, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Grace Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. Glenmora's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Glenmora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .412. However, it's not like Grace Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
