Preview: Pearl River Pirates vs. Valhalla Vikings
The Pearl River Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Valhalla Vikings at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pearl River is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Even though Ossining scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Pearl River still came out on top. Pearl River pulled ahead with a 59-58 photo finish over Ossining. Given Pearl River's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Ossining is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Valhalla's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westlake.
Pearl River's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Valhalla, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
