Volleyball Recap: Gibault Catholic Falls to Red Bud in First Game of Season

Gibault Catholic had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 2-0 to the Red Bud Musketeers. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-11.

KARMON GROHMANN paced Gibault Catholic's offense, picking up three kills. GROHMANN really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. Finally, MAGGIE ALTES kept Gibault Catholic's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Gibault Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Belleville East on the 27th. As for Red Bud, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Triad on the 27th.
