After each having a week off, the Foresthill Wildfires and the Florin Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Foresthill's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Florin has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Foresthill is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 60-12 victory over San Juan. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildfires' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Spartans are ranked 92nd).

Vincent Navarro had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 366 yards and one touchdown while picking up 17.4 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 59 yards. David Silveria also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Foresthill was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 502 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Foresthill's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Abram Robenolt was especially locked on to San Juan's QB and sacked him four times. Robenolt has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played. Foresthill received some extra help from Caleb Anderson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Florin's offense. They were beaten by Vacaville Christian 52-0 last Friday. The shutout was out of character for the Panthers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Foresthill's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Florin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything came up roses for Foresthill against Florin in their previous matchup back in August, as the squad secured a 48-6 victory. In that contest, the Wildfires amassed a halftime lead of 34-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
