Basketball Recap: Friendswood Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Friendswood was the 53-48 winner over Angleton when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Friendswood Mustangs took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Angleton Wildcats on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Wildcats are ranked 326th).

Angleton found their leader in sophomore Landon Miles, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Braydon Campbell was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Friendswood's loss ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-4. As for Angleton, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 13-13.

Friendswood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-59 win against Iowa Colony on the 10th. As for Angleton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-58 victory against Texas City on the 10th.
