Football Recap: Grand County Takes a Loss

Grand County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They were beaten by the San Juan Broncos 81-6. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 74-0.

Despite the defeat, Grand County had strong showings from Beto Carroll, who picked up 80 receiving yards and one TD, and Justin Kimmerle, who threw for 115 yards and one touchdown. Carroll got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 69 yards.

As for San Juan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games.

Leading San Juan to victory were Jagger Nieves and Beau Yeomans. Nieves gained 122 total yards and five touchdowns, while Yeomans threw for 127 yards and five TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Yeomans a new career-high in passer rating (166.7).
