Basketball Recap: Desmet's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

DeSmet waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks with a sharp 62-37 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

DeSmet is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Dawson-Boyd, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

DeSmet and Dawson-Boyd could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings. DeSmet will take on Hamlin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 52 places (56 vs. 4). Meanwhile, Dawson-Boyd (ranked 331st) will meet MACCRAY (ranked 114th) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
