Baseball Recap: Stanton Has No Trouble Against Ribault

Stanton won the last time they faced Ribault and things went their way on Tuesday too. Stanton blew past Ribault 23-1. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hayden Foster made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Stanton's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Foster was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Price, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Kole Fleming was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Stanton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win made it two in a row for Stanton and bumps their season record up to 8-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Ribault, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Stanton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-6 loss against Yulee on the 26th. As for Ribault, they will challenge Wolfson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
