Smithville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hickory Flat Rebels. One positive for the Seminoles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Smithville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Hickory Flat, the victory snapped their losing streak at 11 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-10 record.

Smithville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 84-41 loss against Caledonia on the 17th. As for Hickory Flat, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-45 defeat against Blue Mountain on the 17th.
