Baseball Game Preview: Reedley Pirates vs. Hanford West Huskies

For the second straight game, Reedley will face off against Hanford West. The Pirates will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Huskies at 6:30 p.m. Reedley is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Reedley came into this matchup off a tough 11-run defeat last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Hanford West by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday.

For Hanford West's part, Alex Orozco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Hanford West's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Ritchie, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Ritchie a new career-high. Drake Tafolla was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

With the win, Hanford West broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-10. As for Reedley, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
