Basketball Recap: Gulf Breeze Comes Up Short

Gulf Breeze was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 44-19 to the Milton Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Panthers are ranked 202nd).

Gulf Breeze's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Milton, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf Breeze won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pine Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Milton, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Milton's defense has only allowed 28.2 points per game this season, so Walton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
