Basketball Recap: Harris County Comes Up Short

Harris County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 73-36 loss at the hands of the Jonesboro Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Cardinals are ranked 58th).

Jonesboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Frank Jackson, who went 8 of 13 en route to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cortez Redding, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine assists.

Harris County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Jonesboro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harris County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jonesboro, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Douglass at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
