Baseball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Seneca's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

It was a proper cat-fight when Seneca faced off against Abbeville on Thursday. The Bobcats blew past the Panthers 11-1. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Luke McGuffin tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, William Cutshall was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joey McGovern, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Seneca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abbeville only posted an OBP of .062.

Seneca has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Abbeville, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.

As of now, neither Seneca nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
