Soccer Recap: Crawfordsville's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Crawfordsville waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Southmont Mounties a 3-0 shutout. Considering Crawfordsville have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Inga Freeze and Scarlett Martinez scored all three of Crawfordsville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Crawfordsville's win bumped their record up to 9-3-1. As for Southmont, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crawfordsville will head out to face off against Western Boone at 5:30 p.m. on October 1. As for Southmont, they will venture away from home to challenge South Vermillion at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Southmont will be up against South Vermillion's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.83 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
