Volleyball Game Preview: McQueen Lancers vs. Hug Hawks

McQueen is a perfect 10-0 against Hug since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lancers will venture away from home to take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Hug took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on McQueen, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, McQueen earned a 3-1 win over Reed.

McQueen had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-21.

McQueen can attribute much of their success to Nya Lagrone, who had 16 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Lagrone has posted since September 2nd. Olivia Ludwig also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

McQueen was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Hug came up short against Reno on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-17, 25-7.

Hug's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for McQueen, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Everything went McQueen's way against Hug when the teams last played on September 9th, as McQueen made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
