Catholic Central put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They put the hurt on the Holland Christian Maroons with a sharp 13-1 victory. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered an 8-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

A Owen spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on K Brown-Holzgen, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of A Howard, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Catholic Central pushed their record up to 18-0-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Holland Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Catholic Central beat the Maroons by a score of 18-8 later that day.
