Preview: Lawton Wolverines vs. Charles Page Sandites
The Lawton Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Charles Page Sandites at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lawton had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-6 victory over Capitol Hill. The victory was just what Lawton needed coming off of a 63-32 defeat in their prior matchup.
Lawton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Pene Vaisagite out in front who threw for 101 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Brayden Burrell was in the mix as well, providing Lawton with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Charles Page got themselves on the board against Grant on Thursday, but Grant never followed suit. They breezed by the Generals on the road to the tune of 56-0. Given Charles Page's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Grant is ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lawton's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Charles Page, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
