Football Recap: Union Academy Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Union Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 14-10 to the South Rowan Raiders on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Union Academy lost, don't look at Jaequan Timmons. Despite the final result, he picked up 99 receiving yards and one score.

Union Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Micheal Donato, Timmons, and Lloyd Barnes picked up one apiece.

Union Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lincoln Charter at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for South Rowan, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Langtree Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
