Basketball Recap: Quemado Beats Magdalena for Their Seventh Straight Win

Quemado waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-46 W against the Magdalena Steers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-37 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Magdalena had strong showings from Jema Ganadonegro, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 13 points and five steals, and Elia Cleveland, who posted eight points and six steals. Cleveland is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Jorianne Mirabal was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Quemado pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Magdalena, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 19-6.

Looking ahead, Quemado will welcome Animas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Quemado is facing Animas at the right time seeing as Animas is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Magdalena, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 36-33 victory against Reserve on the 18th.
